KING AND QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN RACES

             

What is it?

A race where contestants run approximately 1.6km carrying an 18kg bag of locally grown potatoes to win the cash prize.

 

What do you need to know:

              There are no age groups, just a male and female race – same distance, same course, same weight          of potatoes for both races.

              There’s a $10 fee to compete, payable upon registration

              This fee is non refundable

By entering the race you are agreeing to race in the true fun, fair and competitive spirit of the Kinglake Country Fair. No cheating or unsporting behaviour.

By entering you are declaring you have no existing injuries or ailments that should prevent you from participating, and agree the Kinglake Country Fair or its sponsors are NOT liable for any injuries you may incur as a result of the race, either on the day or in the future.

Entrants acknowledge and agree that Kinglake Country Fair Inc, its Board Members, site owner and Sponsors may plead this waiver and indemnity as a bar to any proceedings that may commence against all or any of them.

 

When is the race held?

The King and Queen of the Mountain races will be held at 3pm on the day of the Fair, Sunday March 17th, 2019.

 

Where should I be to start the race?

Upon registration you will be sent an email confirming that your registration and fee has been received, as well as details of the assembly point, time and any other details.

 

For those who register on the day we will provide you with these details when you register, and please listen for announcements.

CAR AND BIKE DISPLAY

 

What is it?

                             A display of unique, restored, interesting or custom cars and motorbikes

 

What do you need to know:

There is a $250 cash prize for both the car and bike voted “Best in Show”

Judging is by public vote, with votes counted by Event Management with an independent person supervising.

Voting will cease at 3.30pm to allow time to count the votes and present the prizes.

There is a non refundable booking fee of $10, payable on registration.

This fee acts as your entry to the entire Kinglake Country Fair, excluding rides.

The booking fee only covers the DRIVER ONLY. Passengers must pay separate entry.

The Fair is being held in a grassed area. If you have concerns this may affect your vehicle please contact Event Organisers via the website or Facebook page so we can help you determine if the site is right for you. If you have a particularly low car please let us know in advance.

We have a beer garden on site this year. Please be smart. Don’t over indulge in one, if you participate in the other. Keep yourself and others safe.  

Terms and Conditions below should be read carefully by the individual responsible for the vehicle. By participating in the Car and Bike Display you agree to comply to these Terms and Conditions and all other conditions as detailed on the Kinglake Country Fair website.

 

Where do I need to be?

                        Vehicles will need to be in position no later than 9am on the morning of the event.

An email will be sent to all registered entrants prior to the event regarding site address, entry points and times. If you don’t receive this email please don’t hesitate to contact the Event Organisers via the website or Facebook page immediately.

 

 

Terms and conditions

 

1.        All entrants must hold a current Australian driver’s license to drive the vehicle entered in the Car and Bike Show.

2.        Entrants agree to having their personal and vehicle image (photograph or video footag) for advertising, social media and publicity.

3.        Event Organisers may refuse entry if they so choose, if they deem a vehicle unsafe or inappropriate for the event.

4.        Strictly no cars are to depart their registered car spot outside of the specified entry and exit times and locations (to be emailed prior to event). This is to ensure public safety during the event.

5.        All car registrations must be current and registration plates fitted.

6.        All cars must have their own insurance.

7.        Cars can be left overnight in the allocated sites, however, it is at the owners’ risk. Kinglake Country Fair Inc, its Board Members, site owner and Sponsors will not take any responsibility for cars left overnight.

8.        Kinglake Country Fair Inc, its Board Members, site owner and Sponsors will not be responsible for any damage or accidents to registered cars within the Fair precinct.  The driver and car owner will be held accountable for any damage to grounds, their own vehicle or any accidents that occur travelling to and from and during the Fair hours.

9.        Entrants voluntarily undertake any risks associated with the event and release Kinglake Country Fair Inc, its Board Members, site owner and Sponsors from any or all liability for damage, loss or injury, however caused, that the entrants may suffer as a result of or arising from breach of these terms and conditions and their participation in the event. 

10.     In the case of severe weather management hold the right to suspend and/or cancel cars entering into the Fair site and/or order an immediate evacuation of cars should they deem it unsafe to continue operating under the present circumstances. The call to suspend or cancel the Event will be made by Event Management in consultation with Emergency Services.

11.     Entrants acknowledge and agree that Kinglake Country Fair Inc, its Board Members, site owner and sponsors are not responsible for damage cause by severe weather. Severe weather may include: Lightning, hail, high winds, heavy Rain, thunderstorms, floods or fire.

12.     Entrants acknowledge and agree that Kinglake Country Fair Inc, its Board Members, site owner and Sponsors may plead this waiver and indemnity as a bar to any proceedings that may commence against all or any of them.

                            

CAKE BAKE AND DECORATE!

 

What is it?

              You can bake and/or decorate a cake.

              Two sections: Best Tasting and Best Decorated.

To be considered for the Best Tasting cake you must make your cake from scratch, no packet mixes.

If you aren’t much of a baker, a packet mix is fine or you can decorate a “fake cake”. Just let us know and we won’t include you in that part of the judging.

Be creative, have fun, try your best.  If you have never decorated before, give it a go. It’s all for fun.

              An $8 non refundable entry fee is payable upon registration.

What do you need to know:         

              Cakes entered can be any size up to 30X30 cm.

              Entries are open to everyone, whether you are a novice or an expert.

Cakes can be single tier or multi tier.

If you wish to be considered for the “Best tasting cake” prize you must bake your cake from scratch, no packet mixes.

No photos may be printed onto cakes.

All entries must be the original design and work of the competitor.

The “Best tasting cake” will be judged by a member of the Kinglake CWA.

The “Best decorated” will be judged by public vote, with votes counted towards the end of the day by event staff with an independent community member.

Cakes will be displayed at the event with names of the entrant. If you don’t wish to have your name displayed please advise the Event Organisers upon registration or drop off.

Where do I need to be?

Entries will need to be submitted just prior to the event. Drop off day will be advised via email for those pre registered and announced on the Kinglake Country Fair website and Facebook page.

An email will be sent to all registered entrants prior advising of submission dates and times.

Entries can be collected after 5pm on the day of the Fair. Collection by arrangement in the week following the Fair may also be arranged with the Event Managers if possible. Please contact Event Organisers well in advance to arrange this.

3.        Although precautions will be taken, event organisers will not be responsible for theft or damage.

ONE ARMED TRADIE

 

What is it?

              A race to see who can build a square frame from four boards – literally with one arm only.

              We supply you with a hammer, the nails and boards. You do the rest.

You don’t have to be a tradie, the competition is open to anyone. You just need a minimum of one arm.

When is the One Armed Tradie competition held?

The One Armed Tradie competition will be held at 12.30pm on the day of the Fair, Sunday March 17th, 2019.

CAKE EATING COMPETITION

 

What is it?

              It’s literally eating cake!! How awesome is that!!

              Compete against others in the race to down a cake in the fastest time.

              There is a Junior and Senior event.

Junior : Up to 15 years

                                           Senior: 16+ years

What do you need to know:

              Register for the Cake Eating Competition online at www.kinglakecountryfair.org.au

              There is a $5 non refundable entry fee for each participant.

Junior entrants may also compete in the Senior event however, Senior category entrants may not participate in the Junior competition.

              By entering you agree to comply with the Terms and Conditions listed below.

Pre event registration is encouraged but you may register on the day.

 

Where do I need to be?

              The Cake Eating competition will be held at 1pm in the Activities area.

Pre registered entrants will receive an email two weeks prior confirming the Assembly Point and time for the event.

For those registering on the day you will be told event details upon registering. Please listen for announcements.
